'Titanic' Tune Nauseates Kate
Kate Winslet snagged her second Oscar nomination for Titanic -- a movie that launched her into cinematic history, and one she's obviously proud to be a part of since Kate has participated in a rather lengthy promotional blitz for the 3D re-release.
During one interview, Kate pulled out her best Honeybadger (she don't give a f*ck) impression when the subject of Celine Dion's iconic theme song was broached. When asked how My Heart Will Go On makes her feel now, Kate said, ""Like throwing up." She quickly added. "No, I shouldn't say that ... No, actually, I do feel like throwing up."
Kate then went on to explain that part of the problem with starring in a movie that has such a signature song is that everyone treats the tune as hers now. "It's thrilling for people to surprise me with the Celine Dion song," she laughed. "I did a talk show recently in Italy and they actually had a live pianist who started gently playing the theme song. I was not even gently, rather severely, urged to go and sing it as though I had in fact sung it myself in the first place."
Like many before her who have lamented the inability to see a film's popularity through fan's eyes, Kate added, "I wish I could say, 'Oh listen, everybody! It's the Celine Dion song!' But I don't. I just have to sit there, you know, kind of straight-faced with a massive internal eye roll."
