Taylor Swift's "shocked face" at every awards show has been the butt of countless jokes (most memorably Kristen Wiig in an epic SNL sketch), and last night in an interview with Nightline, she addressed her now signature look.
"People make so much fun of me for that," Swift tells ABC News' Cynthia McFadden, "and I just, I don't know. It's like, if you win an award, isn't that crazy? ... How do you sit there and be like 'Oh, another Grammy. I guess I'm gonna get that now.'"
"I try to be [blasé] sometimes," she explains. "But it's just hard when you get excited about stuff."
In her recent interviews promoting her upcoming album Red, Taylor has been surprisingly forthcoming on all the hate she gets for her sugary-sweet image, telling Glamour, "I think some people think it's just apple pie and sunshine and sprinkles and ponies. Which is just funny ... But I never feel the need to go out and make some grand statement that I'm dark and twisty and complicated, because I'm not that either. It's just not as simple as ponies and rainbows, though I do love ponies and rainbows."
