Julia Roberts Reminisces on Her Younger Years
October 11, 2011
Julia Roberts sat down with The Insider's Kevin Frazier, reminiscing about how young she was when the actress filmed her upcoming movie Fireflies in the Garden.
Although the movie doesn't hit theaters until October 14, production for the drama took place in 2008, when Julia was just a tad bit younger.
"I get to sit and appreciate what I looked like when I was 38," said Julia with a giggle.
In the movie, Ryan Reynolds plays Michael Taylor, a romance novelist who returns to his Midwest home for his mother's (Julia Roberts) college graduation, many years after she left her education behind to raise her children. But when tragedy strikes amid the celebration, Michael must face his biggest obstacle -- his father (Willem Dafoe) -- as the family grapples with their sudden, devastating loss.
Making the movie, too, was a family affair, as Julia's husband Daniel Moder acted as director of photography.
"He's so complimentary," said Julia, who revealed that she would gladly work with her husband again.
Julia and Daniel have three children too young to be excited about Fireflies, but the little tykes did show interest in Julia's turn as the Evil Queen for an upcoming live-action remake of Snow White.
"[They thought] it was fabulous," Julia answered when asked what her kids thought of her Evil Queen costume.
Fireflies in the Garden opens Friday. Watch the video for more.
