Julianne Hough on her 'Wholesome' Image

Although she's danced a saucy number or two in her Dancing with the Stars days, Julianne Hough has nevertheless managed to remain the wholesome, all-American girl. Hough's new film Footloose puts her in some pretty sexy situations, and the up-and-coming star opens up about how she felt the project might tarnish her squeaky clean image.
"It's a vulnerable state for Julianne," she explains (in third person) of the danger she feels the short shorts and rebellious character might reflect on how people perceive her in real life. Although she admits there is definitely some awkwardness in knowing "[her] fans and for people who know [her]" will see her play a badass, the "good girl" will always reign.
In regards to how Julianne maintains the positivity that she attributes her clean image to, she says it's easy, she is who she is "because of certain things that [she chooses] not to talk about that [she's] gone through in [her] life."
"I choose to be a happy-go-lucky person," Hough concludes.
