'Real Steel' Remains Undefeated
October 16, 2011
Hugh Jackman's rumbling robot movie Real Steel topped the weekend box office for the second week straight.
Coming off last weekend's $29 million open, Real Steel maintained the crown, pulling in $16 million for its second weekend in theaters.
The action flick may have lost a little steam but it had just enough to beat out the second place film, Footloose, which debuted with $15.5 million.
The Thing, the remake of the classic horror film, also debuted over the weekend, garnering $8.5 million for a comfortable third place slot.
