First Look: Angelina's Directorial Debut
Angelina Jolie has starred in every type of Hollywood blockbuster, but for her directorial debut, the Oscar-winning actress chose to make a film that was decidedly un-Hollywood.
In The Land of Blood and Honey chronicles one couple's romance against the backdrop of Bosnian war and is filled out with an entirely indigenous cast. "I wanted to tell a story of how human relationships and behavior are deeply affected by living inside a war," she said, adding that while the movie is "specific to the Bosnian War, it's also universal."
And the movie is poised to be universally loved as the first trailer hints at an affecting, powerful piece of cinema.
In The Land of Blood and Honey comes out on December 23.
