After captivating the hearts of fans around the world, the Twilight saga is set for a climactic close with something that has not yet been featured in the saga -- sex scenes! And series lead Robert Pattinson is dishing on the intense experience.
In an interview with Parade, Robert discussed the passionate lovemaking scenes in the Twilight Saga's final chapter, Breaking Dawn, with co-star and long-rumored girlfriend Kristen Stewart.
"I think the more comfortable you are with each other, the harder it gets to do any kind of really intense relationship scene. You're kind of thinking, 'I don't want to embarrass myself in front of this person.'"
With the involvement of sex scenes, Breaking Dawn producers had to balance the intimate passion with a PG-13 rating, which the Twilight series has steadily maintained. "The toughest part was avoiding an R-rating," Robert discloses.
Amid the passion of the lovemaking scenes, the 25-year-old actor revealed the difficulty of maintaining romance.
"We show romance in the bedroom and also in a nice ocean setting. It was impossible in the waves. We were trying to kiss each other and we misjudged the strength of the tide and so it was absolutely one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do in my life ... God it was absolutely impossible."
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 will be in theaters Friday, November 18.
