What's Wrong with Amanda?

Amanda Seyfried is one of the most beautiful and talented actresses of her generation -- but it's time to say it: she has a terrible track record when it comes to picking movies.

Mean Girls and Mamma Mia not withstanding, Amanda's good movies haven't found much of an audience, while her bad movies are becoming more frequent.

The latest is Gone, an abduction thriller that casts her as Jill -- the only survivor of a serial killer's rampage who believes her now-missing sister has been kidnapped by the same lunatic. Only problem is that no evidence of these crimes exist outside of her story, so the police can't decide if Jill is crazy or simply on to something.

Unfortunately, the fairly formulaic trailer implies the movie doesn't have much going for it beyond a cast of recognizable stars (Jennifer Carpenter, Wes Bentley and Sebastian Stan) and Amanda screaming. A lot.

I'm guessing a last act twist reveals that Jill suffers from some psychological disorder (one of those beautifully convenient movie maladies that annoyingly explains away all the plot holes) and that she is the one who kidnapped and killed her sister.

What do you think?
