'Breaking Dawn' Debuts on Top

There was plenty of pressure for the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 with all the anticipation surrounding the film, and over the weekend, the movie lived up to the hype.
Breaking Dawn - Part 1 took in $139.5 million over the weekend and recorded the second best midnight debut in box office history. The opening of the penultimate Twilight picture seemed to eclipse all other flicks this weekend, as Happy Feet Two opened to $22 million and The Descendants premiered with $1.3 million.
The Twilight Saga has already grossed over $1 billion worldwide. The franchise's last installment, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 is set to open November 16, 2012.
