In the film, Efron plays a Marine named Logan Thibault. While serving a tour in Iraq, Logan is distracted by a wallet-sized picture of a pretty girl lying on the ground. The moment it takes him to bend down and examine the picture is enough to help him avoid an explosion that happens just yards away.

Seeing this woman as his good luck charm, Logan goes to North Carolina following his tour in search of her.
