What Will 'The Hunger Games' Sound Like?
With the 2011 countdown clock getting its gears greased up, the time has come to begin looking ahead to 2012's major events: like the release of The Hunger Games.
And with less than four months until its March 23 release, some new details -- and photos! -- have begun to emerge from their metaphorical launch tubes and ascend the most dangerous arena of all: the internet.
First up is that pic of Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) in the Tribute training room. Nothing groundbreaking but still ... tingly! Such is the power of THG!
More interestingly have been the musical details that have been released in the wake of the warm reception of Taylor Swift's Safe and Sound, her contribution to The Hunger Games soundtrack -- which is being described as a companion, so don't expect to see many of these in the actual movie until the end credits.
Joining Tay-Tay's haunting homegrown ballad are Arcade Fire and The Decemberists, who have both recorded new tunes under the watchful eye of T. Bone Burnett. Arcade song is rumored to be titled Horn of Plenty (the cornucopia!!) while One Engine being the reported title of The Decemberists' song.
Jennifer Lawrence will also lend a song to the soundtrack, with Burnett telling MTV, "She did great. She's singing great. Killer actor too." Music to our ears!
