Emma Roberts and Elijah Wood are currently at the Sundance Film Festival promoting Celeste and Jesse Forever, a film about a divorced couple (Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg) who attempt to maintain their close friendship while pursuing other people.
"I find it really difficult to be friends with my ex-girlfriends immediately," Wood reveals in an exclusive interview with In The Mixx show host Gina Giordan at the Sundance 2012 Axe Hair Media Lounge. "I've always felt like I need at least six months to a year of time away ... it's not a harsh thing, it's just about being able to differentiate between the relationship as a romantic one, and your time as friends and re-establishing the friendship -- and sometimes that's not easy to do."
"It's this kind of weird process that we all know from breaking up with people, is awkward and weird and sad and happy and all these things," adds Roberts.
On a lighter note, Roberts comically plays obnoxious pop star Riley in the film, which Rashida Jones actually co-wrote with her real life ex Will McCormack.
"I play Riley Banks. And I'm a teen pop sensation, if you will," Roberts explains. " ... like a Britney Spears, a Ke$ha-type of thing. She's kind of just wildly inappropriate and a little bit vapid. At first you're just like, you're kind of stupid -- and kind of hot, but not like, dressed very appropriate."

She also clearly had fun performing the potentially X-rated song she gets to sing in the film.
"It's called uhhh ... 'Do It On My Face,' is what it's called," Roberts laughs. "I told my mom what it was called and she was like, 'It's called what on my face?' I'm like, you know what Mom... let's just. ... let's just not talk about this right now," she jokes.
