Longtime couple Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt clearly know what's it's like to have Friends with Kids – so much so that Jennifer committed their amusing experiences to paper and directed the project with a bunch of their talented friends, including a good portion of Bridesmaids pals.

Warning: This is a red-band trailer, so those with an aversion to lots of F-words and scatological humor should steer clear!

"We don't have kids and it's been an interesting thing to just observe how much your friendships change and the relationships change and everything changes when you're out of sync with your peer group," Jennifer revealed to The Insider during production on the comedy. "I think that was sort of the initial kernel for the story."

'Mad Men' Premiere Date Announced

Jennifer first made her mark on the indie scene as the star of Kissing Jessica Stein, and this is her directorial debut. With Hamm as the connective tissue, Bridesmaids bunch Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Chris O'Dowd signed on for the ensemble comedy, which also stars Parks and Recreation star Adam Scott, Megan Fox and Edward Burns.

The movie, which explores the lives of friends whose relationship is altered once children come into the picture, also boasts legendary filmmaker Mike Nichols (The Graduate) as executive producer. Jennifer says, "I've been incredibly fortunate, obviously, to have this group of actors and this level of talent and this level of crew surrounding me, because I would never be able to pull this off without those people."

Friends with Kids hits theaters March 9.
