'Fifty Shades' Coming To Theaters
March 26, 2012
After a bidding war that was so aggressive Christian Grey might have blushed, Fifty Shades of Grey is headed to theaters!
The hugely popular book series, which started out as Twilight fanfic and has scandalized suburbia, was acquired by Universal Pictures and Focus Features, who announced plans to release a trilogy based on the books.
"At its core, this is a romance of the most emotionally resonant, but delicate, order — and we look forward to working with our colleagues at Universal to transform E.L. James' vision into a great film,” Focus Features chief James Schamus said.
The books, which tell the story of rich and gorgeous 27-year-old Christian Grey, have become a hot commodity in small town book clubs as Christian's sexually charged exploits with submissive sweetheart Anastasia Steele are the stuff wet dreams are made of.
Now, the biggest question of all: Who should play Christian and Anastasia?
