Break out the bucket o' pig's blood and lock the gym doors… It looks like Chloe Grace Moretz will be the new Carrie in a remake of the classic 1976 horror film -- at least according to Chloe, who tweeted her excitement today.
Chloe Moretz on Dressing 'Age Appropriate'
"Never been so happy in my life! Thank you Kim Pierce and thank u MGM for the chance of a lifetime i will never forget!" wrote the 15-year-old Kick Ass star on her Twitter account. " She added later, "@trevordmoretz and I are flipping out!!!"
Boys Don't Cry director Kimberly Pierce will helm the MGM remake based on Stephen King's first published novel about a shy high school student whose home life is hell, thanks to her oppressive, overly religious mother -- and wreaks havoc at the prom with her telekinetic powers. Sissy Spacek earned an Oscar nomination in the Brian De Palma-directed original, which also starred John Travolta, Piper Laurie, Amy Irving, Nancy Allen and William Katt.
If done well, this role could cement Chloe's status as a brand-new horror queen (as well as the go-to-girl for horror remakes), having recently starred as a the vampire next door in the Let Me In redo.
