The film, inspired by the Steve Harvey book, took in $33.3 million, enough to beat The Hunger Games' $14.5 million and The Lucky One's $22.8 million.

Disney's documentary, Chimpanzee, debuted to surprisingly good numbers, reeling in $10.2 million in only 1,563 theaters, landing in fourth place. In comparison, the weekend's fifth place spot went to The Three Stooges, which made $9.2 million while showing in 3,482 locations.
