'Avengers' to Cross $1 Billion Worldwide

Marvel's The Avengers continued to smash records over the weekend, becoming the first film in cinematic history to make over $100 million in its second weekend.

The Avengers brought in $103.2 million and is expected to reach the $1 billion mark in worldwide earnings on Sunday. This would place the action flick as the 11th top grossing film of all time.
Johnny Depp and Tim Burton's eighth film, Dark Shadows, trailed behind in second, pulling in a meager $28.8 million in its debut weekend.
