Watch: 'Lethal Weapon' Deleted Scenes
It's been 25 years since Mel Gibson and Danny Glover's action-buddy film Lethal Weapon became a surprise box office smash, launching a highly profitable four-film franchise in the process. Gibson was cast as suicidal cop Martin Riggs opposite Glover's about-to-retire Roger Murtaugh in director Richard Donner's first Lethal Weapon, and as the series continued, each film grew more comedic (with the help of such comic relief as Joe Pesci and Chris Rock) and adjusted the focus on friends and family (with bigger and bigger action set pieces, naturally).
