'The Avengers' Stays on Top

Marvel's The Avengers topped the box office for the third weekend in a row, sinking Battleship's highly anticipated debut.

The superhero flick took in $55 million over the weekend, eclipsing Battleship's opening, which procured just $25.3 million.
The Dictator's attempted coup d'etat proved unsuccessful as well, reeling in $17 million for third place.
