Women may not have their place in the Channel 4 newsroom, but Anchorman 2's surprising holdout, Christina Applegate (aka Veronica Corningstone), has just confirmed she will appear in the highly anticipated sequel.

Up until now, Applegate has played coy about how (and if) she would play into the follow up. She joins Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Steve Carell who have all signed up for part two and since released this teaser featuring the gang.

Writer Adam McKay told The Hollywood Reporter in April they were working on getting Applegate into the mix, but said nothing was yet set in stone.

Ron Burgundy himself announced the sequel in March, clad in maroon suit and sporting his signature 'stache, during a visit to Conan.
