'Madagascar 3' Tramples 'Prometheus'

Madagascar 3 led the pack at the box office, topping Prometheus for the biggest debut of the weekend.

While both films over performed, the third installment of the Madagascar franchise took the cake, pulling in $60.4 million to Prometheus' $50 million domestically. The animated flick also attracted foreign audiences, earning $75.5 million for a $135.9 million worldwide debut.
Snow White and The Huntsman took the bronze in its second week in theaters, taking in $22.9 million for a cumulative of $98.5 million domestically.
