In the featured flashback, LL is in costume as he is interviewed in 2000 about the film Kingdom Come, in which he starred alongside Vivica A. Fox, Jada Pinkett Smith, Toni Braxton, Cedric the Entertainer, and Whoopi Goldberg.

The then-32-year-old actor asserts that he relate to the character, who is from the middle U.S., even though he's a city boy who grew up in New York.

"You build a character," Cool J said of his preparation for the role. "I've known a lot of people that were simple. Even if you've never met anyone like the character, sometimes you it's about imagination, relaxation, and concentration."

Cool J also talks about the then-ongoing NBA Finals between the Lakers and the Pacers, a subject on which he is very particular about when talking about which team he is rooting for.

He also brings up his frustration with co-star Vivica Fox's obsession with the Lakers, which seems to deeply annoy him. "We can't even get through a scene without Vivica bringing up the Lakers," he says.
