'Ghostbusters 3' Is On, But There's A Catch
Unofficial Ghostbusters 3 spokesperson Dan Aykroyd has once again given the world an update on this long-gestating franchise reboot -- but this time he's got great news ... and terrible news.

First the good: he tells Metro (via) that a new writer has come on board and they've settled on a treatment that works for all parties involved, with plans to start production in 2013. The script will revolve around the original stars "passing the torch on to a new generation," Dan says. "We're working on it to make it just right to satisfy our fans."
And now the bad: Bill Murray will not be involved.
"It's sad," he says of Murray passing on the project, but is confident that "Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill. My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn't seem to be coming and we have to move on."
I'm less confident. I mean, Ernie Hudson is great and all, but Murray's Venkman was the key (master) to that whole series.
