Casting 'Gone Girl'
Finding Nick & Amy
Over the weekend I started (and finished!) reading Gillian Flynn's tremendous, terrifying and totally ripe for the big screen Gone Girl.
RELATED - Casting 50 Shades of Grey
In a nutshell, Gone Girl is a tense look at the dissolution of a marriage, which culminates in Amy (the wife) disappearing and Nick (the husband) being accused of her murder. Flynn is hard at work on the screenplay, which is being produced through Reese Witherspoon's production company. But here's the thing, Reese is not right for the role of Amy. And this is where we enter spoiler territory, so if you haven't read the book, stop now.
See, Amy is not dead. She staged her abduction and framed her husband because, in short, Amy is a sociopath. So whoever is chosen to play her needs to be able to believably deliver this devilish duality -- the virgin and the whore. Here are TheInsider.com's three casting recommendations!
