October 28, 2012
In its third week in theaters, Ben Affleck's R-rated thriller, Argo, topped the box office chart for the first time.

Pulling in $12.5 million, Argo easily outperformed Hotel Transylvania ($9.5 million) and newcomer Cloud Atlas ($9.4 million).
Hollywood may have Hurricane Sandy to blame for the relatively soft numbers seen across the board, as New Yorkers were encouraged to stay home (today, NYC public transportation is closing at 7p.m.).
While on the one hand, Argo did win the weekend, on the other hand it was also the second lowest No. 1 movie of the year so far.
