Rewind: Jennifer Lopez Unveils Her Love Pillow

Jennifer Lopez may not be afraid to swivel her body on stage at her concerts, but the singer and actress revealed a discomfort for performing love scenes in her early acting days.
While Jennifer Lopez is known primarily for her music, she began her showbiz career in acting, delivering her Golden Globe-nominated performance in Selena two years before her debut album dropped.
This Pop Culture Rewind takes you back to this day in 1995, when Lopez was beginning to gain traction in the film industry after the release of Money Train, which stars Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson. In the film, Lopez's character has an intimate scene with Snipes, which daunted her prior to filming it.

"I had never done a big, huge love scene," she says in the featured flashback. "I've done kissing, caressing, heavy petting, but I've never done a love scene before. So, I was very nervous about it, so I called some actor friends of mine."
As she continues recounting her encounter, Lopez reveals that she received advice from her My Family co-star Jacob Vargas to request a "love pillow," a makeshift barrier between actors to prevent excessive skin-to-skin contact in intimate scenes.
REWIND: Jennifer Lopez Talks Fashion Career
"Some people want that [skin-to-skin contact]--that's up to them--but me...I said, 'I'll take the love pillow,'" she describes. "Nobody on the set knew what it was. Nobody had ever heard of this. So, I told one of the wardrobe ladies and she was so sweet...I explained it to her and she made me three different sizes."
When prompted by the interviewer, Lopez declares that she plans to use the love pillow for any of her upcoming love scenes, regardless of who they are with. After rolling her eyes at the question, she says she'd even use it with her Blood and Wine co-star Stephen Dorff, of whom she'd spoken highly earlier in the interview.

"Stephen's fab but everybody gets the love pillow, O.K.?" she says, after which the interviewer continues to pry. "Jack [Nicholson] (Blood and Wine) gets the love pillow. I don't discriminate, O.K.? Everybody gets the love pillow."
