Gaga's 'Marry The Night' Explodes Online
Rumor had it Lady Gaga's Marry the Night video was 11 minutes long. Which is exorbitant, even by her own standards. But Gaga must have set a record because the actual thing clocks in at 13 minutes and 48 seconds.
Which is A-OK by me -- I would have watched 13 hours of this fascinating personal diary, which starts off a little odd (with a voice-over in a French insane asylum) before transitioning into a Black Swan/ballet vignette. Around this time I realized exactly what was happening in this video: Gaga was telling her pseudo-life story.
One of barrel-scraping despair, internal strife, fear of obscurity, determination and triumph. Oh, and cheerios.
The deeply personal ode is a success on all fronts -- from concept to execution -- and easily one of Gaga's best videos to date. Which is saying something.
