Having released his twelfth studio album, Hell in a Handbasket, Meat Loaf revealed to The Insider what is different about his new album and what has changed over the course of his music career, including his song library.
"Since I'd met Lil Jon, and I [had] Lil Jon on 'Stand in the Storm,' I started downloading rap and hip-hop artists beyond your wildest imagination," the 64-year-old musician said. "I didn't know that much about the genre…and I want to understand that art form."

As for the album beyond his collaboration with Lil Jon, Meat Loaf assessed that unlike his previous albums for which he took on characters like an actor for each song, his approach was different for Hell in a Handbasket.
"[For] this one I didn't take any characters. I sang it through my eyes," he revealed, then describing the origin of the album's title.
