You Should Know: LP

With her booming voice and Bob Dylan-esque swagger, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter LP is on the verge of mainstream success.
LP has already generated a lot of buzz having written hits for pop stars Rihanna (2011's Cheers) and Christina Aguilera (Beautiful People from the movie Burlesque). Her recent live EP, Into The Wild, received strong critical praise after its release last month and the title track is in a word -- epic. (It doesn't hurt the fact that it was memorably featured in that Citibank commercial.)
It's hard to box LP into one particular genre. She admits influences of indie rock, folk and pop in her music -- plus she rocks a mean ukulele! But it's her voice and stage presence that is undeniably the most penetrating.
And did I mention she does an amazing cover of Beyonce? I'm obsessed. Artist You Should Know? Hell, LP is an artist you will never forget.
Be sure to look out for LP's first full-length studio album since signing with Warner Bros. Records in 2011, when it drops the end of this year.
