Rewind: On Set of Xtina's 'You Lost Me'

Just three months before Christina Aguilera and her then-husband Jordan Bratman would announce their divorce, Aguilera invited us to the set of her new music video, You Lost Me, wherein the 29-year-old discussed her artistic process as well as her return from a lengthy hiatus from the music.

Aguilera appeared tired but in good sprits for the interview dated June 29, 2010, proudly showing off a tattoo on her forearm of her hubby's name in Hebrew.
Dressed down, Christina explained her process for immersing herself into the emotions necessary to due justice to her mournful ballad of love lost.

"I think you can also be inspired to be in a place of pain even though your world could be the happiest ever," she explains, careful to convey the pain she's channeling has nothing to do with to her relationship with Bratman. "Everyone has pain from, from different places...if you look at this world that's being torn apart and burnt down, I think it can set the tone for a place of sadness."
In regards to her extended stint away from the spotlight, Aguilera says she needed the time away to live and grow creatively as an artist.

"Becoming a mother, taking the first year to do the mom thing, feel what that's really like and then be inspired for my new record," she said. "So it's been a lot of work in the progress and I couldn't be happier... the album's inspired by my son and the future and the feeling of the movement of electronica music in a sense, but still maintaining that rawness of having those definite ballads that evoke that pure, honest emotion."
