Is Cary Brothers Going Electronic?!?
July 10, 2012
I first heard about Cary Brothers when Zack Braff placed his song Blue Eyes on the Garden State soundtrack. I, like you, thought that they were a group of brothers who wrote epic love songs. Wrong.
Cary Brothers is actually just one guy, who happens to be the king of the singer songwriter prom. In an effort to put off writing his next full length record, Cary decided to release a beautiful EP of covers. It's called Covers: Volume One and features duets with some of my favorite artists. My favorite is the cover of Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeah featuring Rachel Yamagata. Way to take a perfect song, and make it even more perfect Cary!
Cary is one of the most licensed artists in film and television. On top of that, he is a humble and lovely human. I had the most wonderful time talking with him about music. A true artist, Cary is pushing the boundaries of his musical genre for his next undertaking, working with EDM artists like Tiesto to put forth a unique blend of heart and beats. I cannot wait to hear it!
