No Doubt 'Push & Shove' Into 2012
With their first album in 11 years, No Doubt is attempting to elbow the Swift's, the Gaga's, the Jepsen's and the boy bands outta the way -- but does the band's signature sound still have a place in the music market today?
That's the question this morning's premiere of the title track off Push and Shove, attempted to answer, and ... well, I'm not loving it.
While their music has always had a bit of that "everything and the kitchen sink feel," this song seems overstuffed. The horns compete with the vocals, which fight against the tempo and the ska-reggae-infusion.
Don't get it twisted, I love their previously released single, Settle Down, but Push and Shove feels like one long bum note. What do you think?
