Dre & Diddy Top List of Hip-Hop Cash Kings
September 05, 2012
Hip-Hop artists are not afraid to flaunt their bling and now Forbes magazine has unveiled its latest list of the genre's wealthiest stars.
The publication named Dr Dre this year's Hip-Hop Cash King -- with a whopping $110 million in pretax earnings -- due in part to sales of his premium headphones line Beats By Dr. Dre. Check out the full list here.

Coming in second place was Diddy with $45 million, which Forbes attributes mostly to the rapper's share of profits in the Diageo's Ciroc vodka brand.
No. 3 on the list was mogul Jay-Z, who pulled in $38 million in annual earnings -- about half of which came from ventures including the cosmetics company Carol's Daughter, the ad firm Translation, as well as the Brookyln Nets and a joint venture with battery maker Duracell.

Kanye West brought in $35 million -- almost exclusively from his Watch the Throne album with Jay-Z and his concert tour -- to finish fourth on the list.
Lil Wayne came in No. 5 with $27 million after his latest album Tha Carter IV sold a million copies during its first week. Wayne also launched the clothing line Trukfit and has a partnership with Pepsi's Mountain Dew, the first major product endorsement in the rapper's career.
