'My Oh My' I Love Tristan Prettyman!
The amazingly talented Tristan Prettyman stopped by our studio to chat about her latest album, Cedar + Gold.
Following the tour in support of 2008's Hello, Tristan traveled the world, had surgery to remove polyps on her vocal cords, and got engaged to her long-term boyfriend Jason Mraz before he ultimately ended the engagement.
Like the gifted singer/songwriters of which she draws her inspiration, artists like Joni Mitchell & Ani DiFranco, Tristan saved all the pain and heartache for the record.
"All of these songs were born in the moment of ... the moment they were written about," she explains.
The end result is a deeply personal, emotionally-driven record. But if the lead single My Oh My is any indication, this is no swan song. Tristan is stronger and sassier than ever! And we love her for it.
Check out our interview for highlights of the My Oh My video and be sure to pre-order the album here, out October 2nd.
