Meet Kimbra, Pop Music's Next Sensation!
This past summer there was no escaping the ubiquitous Gotye single Somebody That I Used to Know. The magnitude of the track was elevated by featuring fellow New Zealander Kimbra, whose searing vocals took it to a different level. And while she might be best known for the hit collaboration, Kimbra is quickly becoming the next great pop sensation.
The 22-year-old singer released her debut album Vows earlier this year, which she started writing and recording at the tender age of 17. Kimbra has since completed her first headlining tour in the States giving her the opportunity to showcase her whole range of work outside Somebody.
A gifted songwriter, the imagery in her music transcends beyond the lyrics. This is most evident in her music videos, which are so rich in color and the avant garde that I literally couldn't stop watching them. She's so funky and I'm obsessed.
To learn more about Kimbra and what collaborations we can expect in the near future (HINT: they're Grammy winners), be sure to check out the full interview.
