Hit rewind and take a ride back to this day in history 24 years ago -- March 23, 1987 -- when Whitney Houston was rocking a blonde afro and getting ready to debut her second album.
Whitney stepped out for the inaugural Soul Train Music Awards, and commented on the then-upcoming debut of a little album called Whitney (which would break Billboard records, go multi-platinum and earn three Grammy nominations), "It should be completely right, you know, and that's what it's all about, making sure it's the best that it can be."

Reality star NeNe Leakes visited "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," revealing her true feelings about one of her co-stars on "The Apprentice" in an interview that airs March 23 on NBC.
"I don't think anybody is getting along with Star [Jones]," said NeNe. "She is bossy, she is manipulative, conniving. And I'm not even being funny."
NeNe suggested that the cause for her personal issues with Star may have stemmed from her TV persona, saying, "I think she had preconceived notions of who she thought I was just from watching me on the 'Housewives.' I think she thought I was going to come in and take over."

Rebecca Black's music video "Friday" has received over 35 million views since being posted on YouTube last month, but not under the best circumstances.
Critics have dubbed "Friday" "the worst video ever made," and Black admitted to Jay Leno on Tuesday that these words affected the 13-year-old.
"When I first saw it... I cried," said Black. "Being a teenager, you care what other people think about you." Black went on to reveal that she isn't bothered by caustic internet comments because she no longer reads them.
"The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" airs weeknights on NBC.
Matt Elrod and Krista Klumpp have forged a deep relationship, bonding over their shared faith in God. The only problem is that they're in the middle of a fierce competition to win $1 million on "Survivor: Redemption Island" and only one person can claim the prize.
"Krista's different from the other competitors I've faced for one key reason," said Matt. "It's just that both of us have really been struggling with not having a faith community and other believers to kind of lean on and talk with about our beliefs and how we feel."
Watch the clip to see the two contestants sharing devotional time together in prayer, looking out over the ocean. And tune into "Survivor: Redemption Island" when it airs Wednesdays on CBS.
Veteran film producer, Jerry Weintraub ('The Karate Kid'; 'Ocean's Eleven'), was honored in Hollywood on Tuesday night by some of the biggest names in the business and "The Insider" has the video.
Weintraub's life has been chronicled in the HBO documentary 'His Way,' airing April 4, and some of Weintraub's friends (Matt Damon, Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone amongst others) stopped by for the movie's Hollywood premiere.
Damon starred in one of Weintraub's most notable flicks, 'Ocean's Eleven,' and Weintraub joked that he may have rubbed off on the actor.
"He does a better impression of me than I do of myself," Weintraub told us. "He's great at it."
Weintraub has cemented himself as a master of persuasion and Bruce Willis joked that no one could escape his charm, saying, "Jerry tried to make a five picture deal with the Vatican a few years back."
When asked about the accuracy of the documentary Weintraub proclaimed, "It's all true... I didn't lie about anything and I didn't hurt anybody in the film except myself, so, yeah, that's okay."
Click the video to hear Matt Damon's story of the pranks pulled on Weintraub while filming the 'Ocean's' movies. 'His Way' premieres on HBO Monday, April 4.

In "The Decision," Katie plays a high-profile actress who makes the choice to stop using her colorist and starts coloring her own hair. She collaborated on the project with hair care provider John Frieda to showcase the company's Precision Foam Colour product.
"You know this was a really fun project to work on and a great opportunity to bridge movies into beauty and I had a wonderful time working with John Frieda," Katie told ET. "I worked with (celebrity hairstylist) Harry Josh, he did my hair, it was really fun. It was something different, it was sort of a period look, so we had a good time," she added.

JWoww is taking a piece of the "Jersey Shore" to Indianapolis for a photo shoot to help launch her new indoor tanning lotion JWOWW Ultra Tanning Dark Bronzer by Australian Gold. We spoke exclusively with the tan and tone reality star regarding life after "Jersey Shore," relationships and of course, tanning.
Jenni "JWoww" Farley has re-teamed with Australian Gold after their success with JWOWW Black Bronzer, telling us, "I feel sexier when I tan. I feel more fit. I feel more healthy." She continues, "tanning is my lifestyle." Not content with just putting her name on anything, the 25-year-old "really wanted to be 100% hands on to the best of my ability...A lot of people will just put their name on anything and don't care either way as long as they get a check."
With the "Jersey" gang heading to Italy everyone is wondering what will become of her relationship with Roger Matthews, telling us it's "gonna make or break our relationship." Looking to life once the show has ended, JWoww is working on a possible pilot with her "Jersey" co-star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and maybe a future behind the camera. " I only like to be in front of the camera for so long, so I would love to do production. I would love to work on TV shows."
Executive Producer JWoww? Stay tuned.

Hip-hop group Far East Movement made a surprise visit to Franklin High School in Los Angeles on Monday, March 21 and performed their hit songs "Like A G6" and "Rocketeer."
The group, consisting of members J-splif, Kev Nish, Prohgress, and DJ Virman, recently completed a tour with Rihanna in Australia and their own headlining tour in South East Asia.
On returning back to their hometown of Los Angeles, Kev Nish says, "It feels amazing to be back home so to come home, take a break, to get some good sun, good food and just to see our family and come out to a hometown crowd it means a lot to us. It's a good chance to kind of re-energize, refocus and get what we need, get that inspiration that we need to get back on the road."
The band stopped at Franklin High School to promote the new Adidas Originals game face competition where people can upload a photo of their game face to facebook.com/adidasOriginals.
Kev Nish says, "We are here for a concert back in L.A., our hometown, at Franklin High School to perform for a crowd of amazing high school kids for a chance for them to see our game faces and for us to see their game faces."
The selected winners will make it into a special Adidas commercial which will premiere at the MTV Movie Awards on June 5, 2011.
Two brides, two grooms, two lavish weddings, and a whole lot of planning to go. That's the case with BFFs Niecy Nash and Sherri Shepherd, who will serve as bridesmaids in one another's upcoming nuptials.
At her Glamtastic bridal shower over the weekend, Niecy confessed she has yet to choose a bridal gown to accentuate the jiggly bits she made famous on "Dancing with the Stars." "I don't know how many dresses I might wear," the soon-to-be Mrs. admitted. "Three, maybe four." Also on the lengthy to-do list is booking a honeymoon. She wants "to work on my tan and snorkel" on her romantic getaway.
Niecy wouldn't mind the royal treatment for her big day. "I don't know if Kate Middleton is finished working with her people to get her together, but maybe she can let me borrow so they can get me together," she said in hopes of enlisting extra help.
A tinge of jealously sealed the deal between Niecy and fiancé Jay Tucker. "When Jay and I first met I didn't know he was the man I was going to marry until I saw him talking to another girl," she said. The happy couple also played the role of matchmakers for bride-to-be Sherri of "The View."
"The Talk"'s Holly Robinson Peete believes "everything is just aligned for this union" between Niecy and Jay. Sherri agrees that the groom "compliments" her girlfriend. Niecy lit up at the end of her shower when her fiancé surprised her with a large bouquet of roses.
The beautiful grounds of a lush Los Angeles mansion hosted the bridal bash with flowers provided by Eddie Zaratsian. Niecy and Jay's wedding will be broadcast in a TLC special shortly after the May affair.
If Chris Brown is trying to show the world that he's getting over his anger issues, this is not the way to go.
The R&B artist came on to "Good Morning America" to perform and promote his new album F.A.M.E., but grew agitated with "GMA" co-anchor Robin Roberts when their conversation gravitated towards his relationship with his ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Brown was charged in 2009 with felony assault after an altercation with Rihanna, and was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community service. In February, his probation was reduced to a restraining order that states he is not allowed within 10 yards of his ex.
When asked if he'd seen Rihanna since the sentencing downgrade, Brown attempted to try to turn the interview back to his music, saying, "I mean, not really. It's not really a big deal to me now as far as that situation. I think I'm past that in my life. I think today's the album day so that's what I'm focused on. Everybody go get that album."
Following the chat, Brown performed his song "Yeah 3x," and "GMA" reports that following the song, he stormed offstage to his dressing room. Moments later Brown was seen coming back down the hall with his shirt off to approach the person who produced his segment. "GMA" says that their hair and makeup people grew concerned after hearing loud noises and contacted security.
After he had left, it was discovered that Brown's dressing room window had been smashed and according to "GMA" was "strewn across the street below." Roberts tweeted following the incident, writing: "Sure has been an interesting AM @GMA. Still sorting thru everything myself. Just my 2nd day on twitter, wonder what tomorrow will bring?"
