April 12, 2011 (Los Angeles, CA) -- ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT's Nancy O'Dell sat down with First Lady Michelle Obama and Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden at the White House for a rare new sit-down interview to air tonight, April 12th and tomorrow, April 13th.
President Barack Obama recently announced his plan to run for re-election in 2012, and the women say they're ready to hit the campaign trail. Michelle tells Nancy, "Barack and Joe have done a phenomenal job and we're gonna be out there making sure people know their records. So, we're ready to go when the time comes."
Michelle points out, "There have been only 44 presidents in this United States and it's an honor to be able to serve and we will take up the call again. We'll work very hard on behalf of this country."
The women are working hard to encourage support for military families and personally invited ET inside the White House to unveil their military initiative.. Michelle tells ET, "On the course of the campaign trail I got to meet so many phenomenal women, because a lot of these spouses are women, telling the stories of how of they're juggling everything that all of us are juggling, but their doing it on their fourth and fifth deployment; trying to raise kids in a healthy way."
"These women's stories took my breath away and I vowed then on the campaign trail, if I had the honor of serving as first lady, I would try to be their voice," Michelle says.
Dr. Biden knows firsthand what it's like to have a loved one deployed overseas: "My son is [in the] Delaware Army National Guard so we've been a military family for 10 years."
Of raising awareness about the plight of military families, Dr. Biden says, "I knew that this was one issue that I wanted to work on."
Michelle says that everyone has an opportunity to help a military family: "It can be something as small as knowing who the military families are in your community and reaching out and mowing a lawn," or something like offering to take over a carpool or "baking a cake, saying thank you, acknowledging their presence."

Plus Derek and Julianne Hough, Maksim and more -- we have the "Dancing with the Stars" pro dancers' backstory -- next "Insider"!
It's the talk of town - the naughty little shoe that just might cost Kirstie Alley the Mirror Ball trophy. Insider Correspondent Christina McLarty was right there in the midst of all the action, and she got the real play by play from the stars and their parters.
"It was an act of the dance gods," says Kirstie of the errant shoe, to which partner Maks agreed, calling it payback because "you were mean to me."
Kym Johnson was astonished for "something to happen another week" - referencing last week's infamous tumble at the outset of their rumba. "She's such a pro- she just stuck her foot back in her shoe and picked back up"
Karina Smirnoff explained that losing a shoe is a pretty common occurrence for dancers. She too has found herself in Kirstie's predicament, and she places the blame on the shoe's complicated straps. "The worst part about losing the shoe is you still have that strap around your ankle so you can't just put the foot back in."
Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas say they "didn't even notice".
Surprisingly, the two landed a score of 22, garnering two 7's from Carrie and Len, and an 8 from Bruno. This places the Kirstie and Maks in the bottom three with stars Kendra Wilkinson and Sugar Ray Leonard.

Kirstie Alley's dance on Monday's "Dancing with the Stars" led judge Carrie Ann Inaba to crown her the "queen of the unexpected mishap."
While Kirstie and pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced their ethereal waltz, Kirstie went a little too far into the fairytale world as she lost her shoe. But unlike Cinderella at the ball, Kirstie managed to lace her footwear back up and continue the dance without missing a step.
This blunder comes after the dancing partners took a tumble during last week's rumba.
Catch "Dancing with the Stars" Monday and Tuesday nights on ABC.
Prince William and Kate Middleton just made their final public appearance at the Darwen Aldridge Community Academy before taking their vows on April 29. It is rumored that the newlyweds will be spending at least part of their honeymoon at Balmoral Castle, a royal residence in Scotland.
Balmoral Castle was also where Prince Charles and Princess Diana spent part of their honeymoon. It was first home to Queen Victoria and is summer home to Queen Elizabeth. The Royal family has a deep history throughout Scotland, including recently where Prince William met Kate, at the 600-year-old University of St. Andrews.
The city of Edinburgh also has a number of Royal residences. Edinburgh Castle, which dominates the skyline, was a royal residence until 1603 when England and Scotland united under a single monarchy, and remains Scotland's most visited tourist attraction. On the opposite end of Edinburgh lies Holyrood Palace, built in the 15th century, which is the Queen's official residence in Scotland.
The Royal yacht, 'Britannia,' which was launched in 1953 and served the Royal family for more than 40 years until its retirement in 1997 is also docked in Edinburgh and remains a popular tourist attraction. At over 400ft in length and weighing over 4,700 tons, it has hosted four royal honeymoons and 968 total royal voyages.

Simon Cowell hasn't received his invite to the royal wedding yet -- did it get lost in the mail?
The "X-Factor" judge and executive producer tells "The Insider" in an interview from London, "Well I'm literally going to get into a boat, into that river, go up to Buckingham Palace and ask where my invitation was, because it must have gotten lost in the [mail]."
But in all seriousness, the Brit says, "I think this is exactly the right time. We need something like this at the moment. It's been a bit gloomy the last couple of years, so this is going to lift everybody. Everyone's excited."
Prince William will wed Kate Middleton on April 29 at Westminster Abbey in London.
Kirstie Alley is a definite contender on "Dancing with the Stars," and we're time warping back to 1986, when a svelte Kirstie starred opposite Mark Harmon for her first major comedic role in 'Summer School.'
"This was a big opportunity for me, because my characters that I play are usually fairly serious and kind of psychotic -- I wonder why?" she said with a laugh, adding of her own high school experience, "That was probably the most painful period of my life. … I was such a goon through high school. ... It was terrible."
Before she was starring opposite Harmon, whom she called "the world's sexiest man," Kirstie raised eyebrows with her feature-film debut as the sexy half-Vulcan, half-Romulan Lt. Saavik in 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.' Her signature TV role as Rebecca Howe on "Cheers" would come along in 1987.
Rihanna was caught clubbing at the Las Palmas nightclub in L.A. while Nick Lachey and his bride-to-be Vanessa Minnillo talk wedding plans as they leave the hip steakhouse BOA.

The reality world was shocked when "American Idol" finalist Pia Toscano was unexpectedly eliminated from the hit FOX competition. But the 22-year-old singer from Howard Beach, NY has landed on her feet, and she fills us in on her state of mind and what's next!
"I never expected getting cut from the show [that] I would have this much support … and I'm so thankful for it," she tells "The Insider," not even realizing that she was up 30,000 followers on Twitter until after her exit. "I was in a bubble, an 'American Idol' bubble the whole time; very focused on my songs, I would never really go out – we didn't ever have that much time."
Pia says she's now focused on getting some rest and preparing for the upcoming "American Idol" tour.
Watch the video to see what she has to say about reports that she's already landed a recording contract – and who she thinks could win this season's "Idol"!
Okay, so maybe it's not so surprising that John's pick to take home the mirror ball trophy is none other than his old buddy Kirstie Alley, but what is truly shocking is the amount of big-name celebs to hit the red carpet for TV Land Awards last night.
Bill Cosby, Jane Lynch, Michael J. Fox, and Stevie Wonder were all present at this year's taping. Regis Philbin will also be in attendance to receive the Legend Award, presented to him by the one-and-only Barbara Walters.
The common theme for the night? That would be reunions! The full cast of "Family Ties," will be accepting the Fan Favorite Award, the cast of "Welcome Back, Kotter" will be honored with the 35th Anniversary Award, and "The Cosby Show" cast who will be honored with the Impact Award.
For "Cosby Show" star Raven Symone, the reunion is just about as exciting as knowing she's got a place in the network's programming. "TV Land and the Food Network were the only channels I was allowed to watch when I was growing up and knowing that I'm probably the youngest person on TV Land right now, it rocks."
Additionally, Daryl Hall and John Oates will receive the Music Icon Award and will perform some of their most popular hit songs.
The "TV Land Awards" will air on TV Land Sunday, April 17 at 9 pm ET/PT.
