Ann Coulter Defends Chaz from Critics
September 12, 2011
Despite a less than positive opinion of reality shows on television, there is one program that has Ann Coulter's nod of approval, and that's Dancing with the Stars.
The Insider's Christina McLarty sat down with the bestselling author and television pundit to get her take on the Chaz Bono controversy, as well as the very real concern over the safety of the people who participate in unscripted television.
As numerous angry fans have taken to protest the decision to cast Chaz on Dancing with the Stars, Ann defends his participation in the show, calling out the haters who scream the loudest as those least likely to be real fans of the popular reality competition.
"The people who would care about [DWTS] being unkind to Chaz are not the sort of people who will be watching," Coulter began. "Dancing with the Stars is a great idea."
Although admittedly not her "cup of tea," Coulter finds merit in the show because "it isn't designed to show freakish people like Jersey Shore or The Real Housewives," both of which have come under fire for the safety of their cast members at one time or another.
