The Insider's Kevin Frazier attended yesterday's big Moneyball premiere in Oakland – which benefited the Stand Up To Cancer program, and he got the scoop from the film's stars Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill and Chris Pratt.
Chris Pratt, who plays real-life ball player Scott Hatteberg in the film, shared his excitement about playing a big screen baller.
"The best thing about being a ballplayer in a movie is the walk out, center field, wearing the uniform, to look up ... it's like being a Gladiator down in the dirt you know," he says. "It's an iconic position in the ether of our society to see these American heroes -- and to dress up and act like one in the movie is a dream come true. It was awesome."
Jonah Hill talked about playing a more dramatic role than his audiences are used to, and revealed his cinematic idols.
"For me it's really important as I mature and get older, to do comedies and dramas ... you know, Dustin Hoffman and Bill Murray are my two heroes, the guys that did both comedy and drama exquisitely well."
But the man of the hour was clearly Brad Pitt, who whipped fans into a frenzy with his arrival.
"We got to film here in the Coliseum so it's really special for us, and the city came out and was behind us ... it's really nice to bring it here," he says about the importance of having the film's premiere in Oakland.
