Javier & Adam on 'Voice' Win [Video]
June 30, 2011
Finalists Javier Colon, Dia Frampton, Vicci Martinez and Beverly McClellan put up a tough fight Wednesday night as the very first season of NBC’s hit singing competition "The Voice" came to a close, but Adam Levine and Javier were the team to take home the top prize, and The Insider's Brooke Anderson was front and center amidst the madness and celebration.
Fresh from the stage, Colon's mentor Adam seemed profoundly affected by the night's culmination, calling the experience "crazy," admitting he "never thought [the show] was gonna be what it was."
With the win comes a $100,000 prize, and a recording contract with Universal Republic which boasts artists such as 3 Doors Down, Colbie Caillat, and Owl City, but the family man tells Brooke he did it all for his "babies." He says, "That's what I was doing it for. I did it for them, to give them a better life."
Colon won by the narrowest of margins and beat out runner-up Dia Frampton by just two percent. Ironically, the two topped iTunes charts the night before, with Frampton in first and Colon in second.
