First Listen: Justin Bieber's 'Mistletoe'
When word broke that Justin Bieber would be releasing a Christmas album, and that it would feature a reworking of my all-time favorite holiday song -- Mariah Carey's All I Want For Christmas is You -- I made a decision to despise the CD without hearing a single note, lyric, chorus or pre-puberty falsetto run.
Well, today the first track of JB's X-mas album debuted and, as much as I hate to say it, Mistletoe is pretty damn good.
And it's gonna be the biggest song of 2011. Fact. You can't deny the appeal of America's tween dream du jour dropping a track where he asks the listeners to "kiss me underneath the mistletoe." Well played young man, well played.
