After taking a slightly depressing detour into real life during season six, How I Met Your Mother is back on firm funny footing this year even as it continues to investigate weighty romantic issues. One of the biggest being the love triangle Robin has found herself stuck in now that Barney's fully committed to one woman: The genuinely lovely Nora.

But she's cast those feelings aside (temporarily) for Kevin, her ex-therapist, played by Kal Penn. In tonight's episode, titled Mystery Vs. History, the gang spends the night painting Lily & Marshall's gender-uncertain nursery while Ted goes on a first date ... with a woman who may or may not be a serial killer! Robin's realization was just one of the amazing moments I got to witness first hand when I went behind the scenes of How I Met Your Mother.

In addition to finding out what lies ahead for Robin's heart, I got the endlessly delightful Cobie Smulders to weigh in on her Mother odds and the likelihood of Robin Sparkles making another glitter-tastic appearance.
