Jay-Z Gets Animated for 'Secret Millionaires'
Billionaire business magnate and philanthropist Warren Buffett recently made headlines when he announced that the government should tax him more -- not less -- than the average American, and now he's setting his sights on preparing the next generation for the world economic stage – with a little help from Jay-Z!
Buffett's Secret Millionaires Club debuts on The Hub on Sunday, October 23, as a four-part animated special to help instill good financial habits in kids. Originally an online web series of shorts, the first half-hour episode of Secret Millionaires Club, Be Cool to Your School, has a cameo by Jay-Z (voicing himself) advising a quartet of kids, with a bonus helping of Empire State of Mind on the soundtrack.
Kids aged 7-16 can also participate in a "Grow Your Own Business Challenge" online contest to show off their entrepreneurial skills by submitting a new business idea – and have an opportunity to win up to $5,000, as well as present their ideas and have lunch with Mr. Buffett himself. Why didn't they have cartoons like this when I was a kid? I might have become a Secret Millionaire myself, instead of a Generation X slacker behind a keyboard. Oh well. Time to buy another Super Lotto ticket.
