'Whitney' Isn't All About Whitney This Week
If you live in any major metropolitan area, it was literally impossible not to know Whitney was joining NBC's Thursday night comedy block as hundreds of cities were blanketed with ads for the sitcom -- particularly LA, where star Chris D'elia lives.
"That was really, really, really crazy," he tells Insider.com. "I've never been on a billboard and suddenly I'm on 400! It was nice to be on the show NBC was promoting that much, but I'm sure everyone else was just waiting for the day they were taken down."
And while the posters have come down, the ratings have not -- Whitney is one of NBC's biggest new hits. "It's exciting to have a full season to explore these characters," Chris says. "Up until you get picked up, you're cramming everything in there, hoping the network likes it. Now, we can exhale a bit."
Part of that breathing room will allow Whitney spending more time on the non-titular characters. "One of my favorite episodes airs on Thursday. In it, Alex and his best friend break-up their bromance," Chris laughs. "That's a really fun one I'm looking forward to."
But you don't have to wait until Thursday to find out why Chris loves the episode so much -- get an exclusive sneak preview above right now!
Whitney airs Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. on NBC.
