One of the bonuses of obsessing over a hot new show, filled with talented young stars, is watching Hollywood take notice and snatch them up every chance they can!

Since Awkward premiered last July, Ashley Rickards lived it up as a dead teen on American Horror Story, Nikki Deloach will pull double duty with Ringer and now Brett Davern has found his way to Fox's The Finder.

One-third of MTV's most conflicting love-triangle guest stars on tomorrow's series premiere and rang up TheInsider.com to talk all about the primo gig. In addition, I grilled him on all things Awkward and found out the guy who plays Jake sometimes plays for the other team!

Insider.com: I am a huge fan of the show, and have been known to troll some message boards. Is it true that despite playing Jake, you say you're on Team Matty?
Brett Davern: Obviously I'm pro-Jake all the time [laughs]. But there were times I found myself questioning my allegiance and thinking, "Matty is awesome ... am I actually Team Matty?" [laughs] I definitely went back and forth myself but I think that's because the relationship was built as such a slow burn over the first season. I just loved what we built -- and I love that it gets the fans arguing.

Insider: Especially since Jake won out at the end of season one.
Brett: Oh man, as soon as I read the final script, with that scene by the door, I was just so happy. I loved that scene. I'm really excited to see where season two goes. All I know is the show will pick right up where we left it so I'm excited to see what we do next season for sure.

Insider: What would you like to see in season two?
Brett: I've got to say, throughout the first season the audience was calling out Jake for leaving Lissa and going towards Jenna or calling out Matty playing both sides – but someone needs to call Jenna out for dating two guys! It's interesting to me because nobody really points out that she's dating two guys who are best friends and keeping it a secret! I think the second season will have to deal with that at some point. I would love to see the creative way we hash that out.

Insider: Maybe Jake and Matty team up and jointly rebuff Jenna?
Brett: Yea! They have to find out about each other at some point. Jenna's gotten a pass at this point, she's got to be called on it at some point.

Insider: The other big shock in the finale was the reveal that Jenna's mother wrote the letter. Did you see that coming?
Brett: They withheld the last page of the script from everyone until the day they shot it, so I didn't know who wrote the letter until the day it aired! There were rumors on set and we all had bets going – I think some people guessed the mom but a lot of people were way wrong. I was totally shocked and I think the audience was all well.

Insider: Now, before we get season two, you'll guest star on Thursday's series premiere of The Finder. As an actor, do you approach a guest role differently from a series regular role?
Brett: Doing a character for one episode, you just let it all hang out. You take as many risks as you want because it's just a one-time shot. It was kind of cool that because it was The Finder's first official episode too, so it was almost like starting Awkward again – everyone was at zero and there was such a cool energy. I feel so lucky to be on the first episode as opposed to the 65th. It felt like I was part of the family and I loved every minute of it. I would love to go back and shoot another one!

The Finder premieres Thursday at 9 p.m. on Fox.
