The Insider recently sat down with Lucy Lawless and Liam McIntyre to discuss a new chapter of Spartacus called "Vengeance" that will feature McIntyre as the new main gladiator.
Lawless, who will play Lucretia just as she did in Spartacus: Blood and Sand, discussed how she deals with performing in sex scenes while her husband, a producer, is on-set.
"My husband warned me from the start that's what the role was," she admitted, "but it was so darn good, and rich, and nasty that who wouldn't want to play this role? And I just had to suck it up and be brave."
McIntyre discussed his strict physical regime for the show as well as his appreciation of the support of the late Andy Whitfield, who played Spartacus on the show until a battle with non-Hodgkin lymphoma claimed his life last September.
"I wouldn't have a job without him," McIntyre graciously asserted. "If he didn't do such a great job in Season One, none of us would be here."
Lawless, who rose to fame for her TV series Xena: Warrior Princess, also discussed her connection to Ryan Gosling in the video clip above.
Spartacus: Vengeance premieres Friday, January 27th on Starz.
