Jersey City Police Capt. Joseph Connors reportedly told media gathered around one of the reality show's shooting locations that filming has been postponed. But fear not, Jersey Shore fans, the show is able to resume as early as next week, according to the news source.

The show, which has been likened to a modern day Laverne & Shirley, is expected to film for six weeks in Downtown Jersey City.

An all-new episode of the Jersey Shore airs Thursday at 10pm ET/PT on MTV.
