Lohan's 'SNL' - Ratings Gold!
Lindsay Lohan's most high-profile professional appearance in almost two years was a ratings smash -- her episode of Saturday Night Live was number one in its time slot and drew the second-highest viewership of the season, just behind Charles Barkley's January edition.
Her performance on the show, however, has drawn seriously mixed reviews. You have to give Lohan credit since she wasn't given much to work with as the skits were largely unfunny (only Real Housewives of Disney stood out) -- but it must be noted that she didn't seem to have a firm grasp on the material either. Lindsay looked uncomfortable in her own skin and seemed wholly unfamiliar with much of the dialogue, relying heavily on cue cards.
And while there's nothing wrong with that, if I were Lindsay and knew the world was watching this high-profile performance, I would have done everything in my power to absolutely crush it. I don't believe anyone is going to watch her SNL and say to themselves, "Now that's an actress I have to work with! Look at the command she had over her words! Look at how convincing she was as a dancing hood-rat! And that delicious send-up of her prison life? Hilarious!"
In fact, the only thing Lindsay proved is that she can remain conscious for 90 minutes.
