The hammer fell on American Idol last night as the season's first finalist was eliminated from the competition -- but in a new twist, it was the judges and not America that did the axing.
Idol Watch - Ranking The Top 13
The bottom three boys and the bottom three girls were put in Ryan's harsh spotlight and they were: Joshua Ledet, Jermaine Jones, Jeremy Rosado, Erika Van Pelt, Shannon Magrane and Elise Testone.
When all was said and done, the judges were forced to eliminate either Elise or Jeremy -- and opted to send the baby-faced boy home.
