'Idol' Watch - Top 12 Bottoms Out
Birth Equals Death
There were two major headlines to come out of last night's American Idol: Jermaine Jones was eliminated from the competition for withholding his criminal past. A moment illustrated on the show by (cruelly) airing footage of Jermaine being ambushed by the executive producers with the information.
The second headline is, I Feel Old. Yes, it was the annual Songs From The Year You Were Born theme night on Idol and I began popping Metamucil tablets the instant one of the contestants revealed they were born in 1995. Oish, my back.
Sadly the bulk of the kids seemed wholly unaware of any music created before 2000 -- Skylar Laine (born in 1994) seemed to be hearing No Doubt's Don't Speak for the first time ever. That's insane. Equally insane was one performance, which stood head and shoulders above all the other performances, it felt like a string of amateurs opening for a professional.
